In our topic 'Lifecycles' we looked at the lifecycle of a butterfly. We had fantastic Home Learning to support this topic such as spotting eggs on leaves, a Maths game called 'Throw the Caterpillar', a junk model of an iPad giving information about butterflies and even a lifecycle of an eel! One child even spotted a butterfly in a field and then returned home to identify the butterfly in a reference book and find out more characteristics!
We read the story of "A Hungry Caterpillar" and some children are now writing their own versions of this story.
We are continuing to care for our plants and have now spotted a few butterflies that are daring to land in our outside area!
At the end of the week Ava's dad then came in to play his clarinet. We listened to 3 pieces and imagined a butterfly dancing in the air. We then all took part in some jazz music, clapping along and singing the Butterfly Blues! We all had a fantastic time!
