In Literacy we read a non-fiction book called 'All about me', which looked at our bodies. We then talked about our body and how to stay healthy. A number of children have written books about ourselves.
Other children have written stories about other topics and we enjoyed listening to our new authors sharing these stories with the rest of the class.
In Maths we have been looking at the various ways in which we can measure both ourselves and objects within the classroom. We measured our feet, height and hands working with partners and using different methods, such as cubes, cubits, rulers, rolled out lengths of tape, our own feet and our hand spans!
In the Creative area the children have worked in groups to draw around themselves and paint using a variety of bright colours, we even ended up with a beautifully painted cat named Sarah Cat!
Our Stars of the Day this week have been:
Monday Starr who learned the new 'o' sound and then thought of the words operation and oreo biscuits that matched the new sound.
On Tuesday our Star was Jack who built a fantastic 3D lego construction of a garage and a vehicle with a driver and passengers that fitted exactly the garage!
Our Wednesday Star was Ezzah who wrote her own story about a little girl called Ezzah and her adventures when baking a cake.
Lottie was awarded Star of the Day on Thursday for her marvellous measuring.
We hope you have enjoyed our theme 'All About Me ' this Half Term. We have thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the family photographs and learning about the children.
We hope you all have a lovely Half Term and enjoy completing the Home Learning! We look forward to introducing our new theme on our return!
