Welcome back for our final half term of Reception!!
This week we have been sharing news from our holidays. The children love sharing their news and their writing is always one of their best pieces. They are peaking with so much more confidence and can retell events much clearer for their friends. Other children are also asking relevant questions to find out more.
We have also been looking at the beginnings of coding by using a beebot. This is a electronic bee which can be programmed with directions. The children have explored the different movements of the bee and then moved on to planning the journey and programming multiple steps. They have been problem solving when the directions didn't work. There has been great talk amongst peers as they use directional language and explaining why something has happened.
We had our Relax Kids session. This is such a positive hour for the children. Natasha focused on the story Three Billy Goats Gruff (one of our favourites). the children talked about feeling brave and breathing techniques to help us if we feel nervous. Over the next few weeks Natasha will be supporting the children in talking about their feelings and providing strategies to help them.
This term is a busy one! Sports day is coming up on the 26/6 and families are invited to bring a picnic to have up at Bushey Manor after all the sports.
Have a lovely weekend!
