In Meerkats class we have been working very hard during out last week of the term. We started the week by learning about why Christians celebrate Easter and we focused on the traditional Easter story. The Meerkats retold the Easter story in their own words, using adjectives and conjunctions to extend their sentences. Later on in the week we learnt about Easter symbols such as bunnies, the cross, chicks, Easter eggs and what these represent and symbolise.
In Science we have been learning about habitats and what they are. In groups of 3 we desgined and created our own habitats out of shoeboxes. The Meerkats worked EXTREMELY well in their groups to make their habitats come to life. We used a number of different resources and materials to help create our habitat. Afterwards as a group we evaluated the process of making our habitats. The Meerkats had to think about what parts they enjoyed, what was hard and what was easy during the making process.
In Maths this week we have been focusing on word problems using addition and subtraction. We have been thinking about how to realise whether we have been looking for our missing part or our missing whole number. The Meerkats worked hard to solve these word problems.
In Art we have been making our own Easter frames for a picture for our grownups of us in our Easter Bonnets last week during the Spring assembly. We have also been working hard to make our own Easter basket for our Easter egg hunt we had on Friday!!!
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Easter break and get plenty of rest and eat LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of chocolate!!!!!!!! Thank you again for all of your continued support this year. I look forward to seeing you all after the Easter break.
