It has been a busy week in O1 with the children showing they are making good progress as the term goes on. During our literacy lessons we have been giving the children the chance to show what they have learnt by allowing them to describe a setting and character, of their choice. The work produced was fantastic and the children are developing their literacy skills well. This week has also seen us start a new book called Traction Man is here -by Mini Grey. In the book we looked at thought bubbles and what they are used for. The children then enjoyed writing their own thoughts as to what they liked in the story.
In our maths lessons the children have been working out how to find total amounts and also different ways to show that amount. It can be a tricky concept for the children but once again they showed they are making good progress by producing some very good work.
In our topic and science sessions we continued our theme of holidays and weather and wrote about what items we would take to certain destinations.
This week we were very lucky to watch year 2 assembly all about the Olympics. The children found it really interesting and the session was capped off with some fun samba dancing.
Finally, O1 had their first al home session of the year where the parents came and joined us for some fun phonics. It was great to see so many friendly faces and Mr Leveson was extremely proud of how well the children did in the session.
Well done O1 children for another fantastic week of learning.
