Week 5:1st July 2019

In Maths this week we have continued looking at Fractions. We have been looking at shading in a quarter or half of shapes. We started by looking at how we can split a shape into 2 equal halves or 4 equal quarters and finished the week by shading in a half or a quarter or individual shapes.

In English this week we have been learning and writing facts about Minibeasts. After our trip to Paradise Wildlife Park we then wrote a recount of our day. Thinking about how we got there, what animals we saw and of course the most important what we had for lunch!!!! The Meerkats used adjectives to describe the animals, the journey there and their lunch! Near the end of the week we began to look at features of a non chronological report and will look at this in more detail next week.

In Science we have carried on observing our beans and we recorded our observations using our Bean Diaries. We focused on measuring how much they had grown in comparison to last week and whether or not they had more leaves.

On Wednesday we had our wonderful trip to Paradise Wildlife Park. The Meerkats had an amazing day and saw lots of different animals. I was so so pleased with the way that they ALL behaved and they proved themselves to be such SUPERSTARS!!! You made myself and Mrs Liquori very proud.

Well done Meerkats on another great week! Have a lovely weekend and I might see some of you tomorrow at the school fair!
