This week we have continued observing our chicks. They returned safely from a holiday with Miss Klos (we did count to make sure!)
Monday was an exciting day as the children got to hold the chicks. They really were not going to let me forget and there was a real buzz on Monday morning. Lots of children held the chicks and some even got over some initial nerves. There were lots of other opportunities for the children to hold the chicks throughout the week. Look at our photos page for your child's photograph.
We have been watching the chicks closely as they start to gain their features on their wings. We have been writing a recount of the experience, thinking especially about how to write more than one sentence about a topic and how to link them together. We are also working on writing independence and finding strategies to help us write before asking an adult.
Thank you for your wonderful responses to the 3D shapes. We have shared as many as we could and it has really supported the children's understanding on the shapes. They are using related vocabulary much more confidently now when speaking about their feature.
We had our sponsor bounce on Wednesday organised by our BFF. The children were fantastic in bouncing as high as they could and seeing how many bounces they could do. It was a bit tricky not to fall over.
I wish you a very happy half term holiday!! We will be returning for the final term on the 3rd June.
