We have been busy looking after our chicks this week. We had to feed them and give them water twice a day. We also had the chance to hold the chicks during the week. We noticed changes in the chicks as they grew. They are getting bigger and stronger each day and beginning to grow feathers on their wings.
We read the story of Dora’s Chicks this week in which Dora the chicken loses her chicks and goes in search of them. We thought of places the chicks could be hiding and wrote sentences about this. We used junk modelling materials to make our own chicks and hen houses.
We continued to learn about 3D shapes this week and noticed them all around the classroom. It was great to see so many children complete the home learning task and many of them shared their work with the class.
In music this week we used instruments to represent the sounds of chickens. Ms Caperon brought in her double bass to play for us and we sang Baby Shark as she played the notes for us.
We hope you all have a lovely half term Toucan Class.
