It’s been our first (and only!) 5 day week this half term so we’ve managed to fit lots in!
We have been reading the story of ‘Billy’s Bucket’ by Kes Gray this week in English. We read the first part and made predictions before reading the rest of the story as a class. Then after recapping the story every day, we had a go at writing the story ourselves. We tried to make it even better by adding in adjectives and descriptions too.
We used this book for some inspiration in Art too. We used different media to represent what we think we would see if we looked in to the bottom of a magic bucket!
In Maths we have been looking at sharing amounts and investigating whether we can share all numbers equally and what patterns we can spot. Using this learning, we then began to look at very simple remainders and how we could work this out using our knowledge of even and odd numbers.
Our Science topic is still animals but with a focus on humans this time. We drew around Ryan on a big piece of paper and then labelled him with all the different external body parts. We had some great conversation about skin too and the began to think about things that are inside our bodies as well.
We've been working so hard in all of our lessons over the last few weeks, but because we have been so busy I keep forgetting to take photographs of it all in action. So an apology from me (Miss Stevens) for this!
