We've been on a bear hunt! What a lovely week. The children have been fantastic this week and have really made me proud. They took the lead on Monday and told the story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' as a class. We wrote a Story S to help us remember the story. The children were able to even get the order of the obstacles correct. This then inspired the children write their own story maps.
This week continued to be a writing week from the children. On Tuesday the children found out that on Friday they were having a picnic and could invite their teddies. We discussed invitations and what invitations should include so that their teddies would know all about the picnic. The children loved writing them and should brilliant phonic skills in their sounding out and writing. I was out on my course on Thursday and when I returned on Friday I was happy to see some fantastic list writing from the children. They have been superstar writers this week.
In Maths we finished off our adding topic and the children were showing off their understanding of this concept. They have shown their confidence in using tens frames and part part whole models to record. We have been working on talking about the work which shows a deeper understanding of the concepts.
A busy week and I'm sure the children are exhausted. Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you all on Monday.
