We have had a very busy and exciting week in OR class. On Monday and Tuesday we performed our Nativity to our friends and families. The children really rose to the challenge, and Mrs. Forty and Miss Tarrant are very proud of all the children for their fantastic performances!
On Wednesday we went to see ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in Watford. The children were very excited to travel in a coach, and were really engrossed in the performance. On Thursday we had a lovely Christmas dinner, and a very special visitor arrived at Bushey and Oxhey Infants. Santa visited our classroom after lunch, to give each of us a little present.
Our little elves have been working very hard in Santa’s workshop this week. They have had to design the presents, build them, wrap them, and finally label them. Some children also chose to make Christmas trees. They chose to use cardboard rolls, then made their own Christmas tree and added decorations.
In literacy this week we have discussed the Christmas story. We have spoken about the events in the story, and talked about the beginning, middle and end of the story. In maths we have continued to look at weighing objects, finding the heaviest/lightest object. In phonics we learned the ‘ng’ and ‘nk’ sounds. We revised all of the tricky words learned so far, and practised putting them into sentences. This week the children do not have any new tricky words. We would like them to revise the words they have learned so far.
Well done on your fantastic work this week OR class.
