What a Christmassy week we have had!
Monday we had the last dress rehearsal of our production with Year 3 as our audience and then we had the real performances. The children have all worked so hard and I am sure you are as proud of them all as we are! Watching the Year Twos acting on stage definitely gives the Year Ones something to work towards.
Around costume changes and performances, we have still managed to fit in some other bits and pieces. We talked about the Christmas story and why Christians celebrate this special day. Then we made our own books to retell the story in.
Our Maths learning has been about shape, looking at names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
We have been busy making and creating all sorts of Christmas arts and crafts. We haven't taken any photos as lots of them are presents for you from the children. The children will all be coming home with lots of handmade goodies for you and we're sure you will love them as much as the children have enjoyed making them!
Have a lovely weekend. Lots of rest is needed I'd imagine after this week!!
Next week's learning...
Maths will be a continuation of shape.
We will be learning about Christmas traditions from around the world
More Christmas arts and crafts, with a bit of cooking too
Panto visit on Monday, Christmas jumpers and Christmas lunch on Wednesday and an early finish (1.45pm) on Friday.
And lots of fun and games to celebrate the end of term and all the hard work the children have done since joining Year 1.
