This week we have really begun to get in the Christmas spirit in our classroom. We introduced a Santa’s workshop in our role play area during the week. The children have really enjoyed dressing up as Santa and his elves, writing lists and wrapping presents.
On Wednesday we went to visit Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church. When we arrived at the church we were welcomed in to listen to the story of Christmas. We really enjoyed our morning at the church, and we are grateful to the parents that helped to walk us to and from the church.
We have been very busy this week practising for our Nativity. We have been remembering to say our lines and sing our songs loudly and clearly. On Friday we had a dress rehearsal in front of the rest of the school. The children made their teachers really proud, and Years 1 and 2 said they really enjoyed the performance. We hope that the performance goes just as well when our grown-ups come to see us next week.
We will be performing our Nativity twice next week. Our first performance will be on Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 2.15pm. Our second performance will be at 9.15am on Wednesday morning. On that morning we will be asking parents to drop their children at the door instead of coming in with them. This is so that we can get the children changed and parents can go around to the hall to get their seats.
On Monday we will be going to the pantomime in Watford. Reception classes will be travelling to the pantomime on a coach. We will arrive back to school at lunch time, and a school packed lunch will be provided for the children.
Rest up this weekend Toucan Class, so that you are all ready for the busy week ahead of us next week!
