What a week we have had in Hedgehog Class!
We began the week by performing our Nativity twice on Monday. After we had carefully made our way to school through the snow and ice, we quickly got dressed into our costumes, ready for the first performance of the day. We were very excited to perform 'A Miracle in Town' for our families. The children did a fantastic job of remembering when it was their turn, and remembering the lines they had to say or actions they had to do. We were very proud of our performances, and we hope you were too.
On Tuesday we got a coach to the Palace Theatre in Watford to watch Aladdin. Some of the children had never been to a pantomime before. We really enjoyed the show, and our front row seats!
It was Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday and we also had our Christmas lunch. We make our own crowns during the morning, which we decorated and then wore to lunch. When we arrived in the dining hall it was all set up for our Christmas lunches. We sat down at the tables and the teachers served our lunches to us. During lunch time, Mr. Nicholson heard some really strange noises on the roof, and went up to have a look.
Later in the afternoon, when we were back in our classrooms, Mrs. Cooper came to the door with some very exciting news. When Mr. Nicholson had climbed onto the roof, he had found Santa! Santa came into our classroom to have a chat with us. He asked us to please leave out some food for himself and his reindeer on Christmas Eve. He also reminded us to get to bed early that night, so that he could come to drop off our presents. Before he left, Santa gave each of us a present to put under our trees until Christmas.
The next day, some of the children chose to write cards and letters to Santa to thank him for the present he gave to us. We are hoping these will reach the North Pole before Christmas.
Over this past week, we have been well and truly getting into the Christmas spirit in Hedgehog Class!
