This week we have had a fantastic and busy week.
In English we have been looking at poetry and using a short poem about a mouse to inspire our own poem. We had to think of lots of adjectives about a small animal to help construct our poem. The children worked over the week to create their poem and then wrote it neatly on Friday. Next week the children will have an opportunity to perform their poems to their friends.
In Maths we have been looking at what equals means. We have been thinking about balancing number sentences to ensure both sides are the same. The children worked really hard as they found it a bit tricky but with the help of numicon they succeeded so WELL DONE PURPLE CLASS!!
In Science we looked at pets and what we have to do in order to care for animals who we may have in our home.
In Topic we have been continue our theme of Festivals and we have looked at how people might celebrate festivals around the world. There were some very different ideas and traditions. We looked at where these countries are on a world map. We also looked at Thanksgiving and thought about what we are thankful for. The came up with some lovely ideas and reasons why they were thankful.
In English we will be writing about our dream pet and how we might look after it (using some of the words we have been learning in Science - carnivore, herbivore and omnivore and Reptile, Mammal, Fish, Bird and Amphibian).
In Maths we will be looking at number bonds to 10 and Doubling and Halving.
In Science we will be comparing animals using key vocabulary.
Have a lovely weekend
