The Golden Book was taken from Mrs. Cooper’s office this week, and we had to help her to find it! Firstly we thought that we could make posters to let everyone know that it was missing, and we put them up all around the school. Some children thought it would be a good idea to make a trap for whoever had taken the Golden Book. We drew up plans, and then used the wooden blocks outside to make the traps.
On Thursday there was a development. The police had found a fingerprint and a footprint in Mrs. Cooper’s office. During the day, we took fingerprints from everyone in Reception, to see if any of the matched to the one found in Mrs. Cooper’s office. We measured the footprint using conkers, and found that it was 12 conkers long. We then measured our own footprints, to see if any of ours would be a match.
The mystery was finally solved on Friday, when the Golden Book was found. Mrs. Cooper was very grateful for all of our help in finding it. Although the mystery still remains as to how it ended up in the garden of Buckingham Palace!
We will be holding our ‘At Home Session’ next Wednesday 29th November. You are welcome to stay in the classroom when you drop your child. We will be teaching a phonics session, and will set up some activities for the children to do. The session should last between 30 and 45 minutes.
Just a reminder, we would like to gather all of the costumes for our Nativity by next Monday. If you are having any trouble with finding the items for your child’s costume, please let us know.
Also, we will be reading the story of Stick Man next week. If you happen to walking in the woods over the weekend, it would be great if you could gather some sticks to bring into us. We have planned lots of activities involving sticks for next week.
