On Monday we took a trip to the allotment to plant our beans. Zara’s mummy had kindly set up the bed ready for us to plant. We planted our beans and watered them, and will visit the allotment again very soon to see their progress.
In preparation for our trip to Bekonscot we introduced the topic of transport this week. We listed all of the vehicles we could think of, and the vehicles we thought we might see on our trip.
On Tuesday we went on a trip to Bekonscot Model Village. We took a coach to the village and then began exploring. We had a list of things we needed to find as we walked around so we had to look carefully at everything. We had lunch and then a trip on the train. We then explored the second half of the village, enjoying looking at the funfair, circus and real fish that we saw along the way. We really enjoyed our trip on the coach and visiting Bekonscot.
Later in the week we drew pictures of what we had seen there and also wrote about our experience. We thought about the models we had seen and wrote down what we had enjoyed most. We also decided to make our own models using junk modelling materials. We used many of the skills we had learned over the year to make windmills, trains and a coal factory.
Well done on a great week of learning Toucan Class. Don’t forget that our Summer Fair takes place tomorrow at Bushey Manor. We hope to see lots of you there.
