Welcome back B1 to a great start to the Spring term!
On Thursday, we began the day with PE, practising our gymnastics skills and then leading onto building and developing our team and communication skills as part of our new year, new us attitude! We played a range of games including hot potato; passing, bouncing, dribbling the ball to each other and making sure we listened to each other.
During Literacy this week, we began by writing a recount of our holiday news, ordering the events in sequence and using time openers e.g. then, next, after to help organise our sentences. We then spoke about the New Year and what resolutions and targets we wanted to set ourselves at both home and school. We thought of some very good targets that Mrs Impey thought were very reflective and honest. We will continue to do our best learning, trying our best to achieve our targets this half term.
In Maths this week, we having been learning about the time, identifying and labelling the different parts of clocks and watches. We used clocks to tell the time, including o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. We then solved problems involving our school day and calculating hours(s) before or after.
We have begun to learn about our new topic this week 'Important People From the Past' we discussed the term past and we spoke about important figures in History around the world. Please have a look at our amazing role play area, it has been transferred into Mount Everest by Mrs Harper, ready to learn about the explorer Edmund Hilary next week!
Well done girls and boys a super start to the Spring term, keep up the hard work!
