What an active week we have had this week! This week was Sports Week at school, and we took part in sporting activities each day.
On Monday we had a World Cup Football workshop. We worked on dribbling, passing and taking penalties. On Tuesday we had a dance workshop. We learned some new dance moves, and put them all together to make a sequence at the end. On Wednesday we had our Sports Day. The children all participated really well in this, and really enjoyed the morning.
On Thursday we had a ‘Fitter Future Day’. We did a Fitter Future workout that focused on core strength. We ended the week by having a skipping workshop on Friday. We learned how to skip using ropes, and counted the number of skips we could do. After practising for a while, we counted our skips again. We all were able to do more skips the second time around. We learned that we can get better at anything with practice.
We also took part in The Daily Mile this week. This is an initiative that many schools have taken on board. The children were encouraged to travel around a track on the playground. They could choose to run, jog or walk it, but were encouraged to keep moving for 15 minutes. The children really enjoyed this, and hopefully we can continue this in the future. The Daily Mile helps to improve health, fitness and concentration when children do it regularly.
We have also been quite busy this week preparing for our class assembly. This will take place next Wednesday 4th July at 9.15am. The assembly should last for 15/20 minutes. All of the children have words in their bookbags that they need to learn for Monday. Please practise them with your child so that they are confident to say them without support.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our assembly next week.
