It’s sports week and the children have been involved in all things sporty.
On Monday they took part in a football skills workshop. It was World Cup themed and they practised their dribbling and kicking skills. They had to score penalties at the end and some children have a very good celebration move when successful.
On Tuesday we have the dance workshop where the children learnt a street dance routine. They picked up the moves very quickly and did a lovely performance at the end which can be seen on our photo page.
On Wednesday was sports day. The children loved taking part in different activities and trying something new. I was very proud of them for having a go and learning that it doesn’t matter if you don’t win. I hope you enjoyed the picnic lunch to end this lovely morning.
On Friday we started the day with the Daily Mile. This is a sport initiative to help children be active for 15 minutes in the morning to help boost their concentration and readiness for learning. The children loved this although many found it difficult. We encouraged children to walk if they couldn’t run as the aim was to continue to move for the whole time. In the afternoon we had Skip2Bfit in and we had a skipping competition.
I can’t forget to mention Badger’s class assembly. I was incredibly proud of all the children for their performance. It has been so lovely to see them flourish over the last year and they definitely ended on a high. We ended the assembly with a biscuit treat back in the classroom. I hope you enjoyed the performance. I have recorded and uploaded a video of our rehearsal for you to watch on our photo page.
We have had a great week at school and really learnt about the importance of having a go, doing our best and keeping fit and healthy,
Have a lovely weekend
