In Literacy this week we have been focusing on non-fiction writing linked to our text 'One day in the Savannah'. The children had great fun working in pairs to come up with their own commentary for a nature documentary and they have also chosen an animal to research and create an encyclopaedia entry for.
In Maths we revisited out work on using arrays to multiply numbers and then moved on to looking at dividing numbers. We have done lots of practical work sharing items into different amounts of groups. The children have really impressed us with how quickly they have grasped the concept.
In topic we have continued to look at important people from the past, and this week learnt about the Victorian heroine, Grace Darling and also some inspirational female athletes and paralympians. The children have represented their learning by either drawing a picture of what they've learnt or by acting out a role play to the rest of the class. This was very popular and we will definitely be planning some more drama activities soon.
