This week the children have really been enjoying our caterpillars. We are watching them grow and noticing the changes that occur every day. We are continuing our caterpillar diaries, and adding things every few days. We continued to look at the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, painting pictures from the story. Some children chose to make their own zig-zag books to retell the story.
The children have been hunting for minibeasts in our outdoor area this week. We have been recording the minibeasts that we find, and using magnifiers to take a closer look at them. We found a moth on the ground outside, and used the computer to identify the type of moth we had found. We talked about needing to take care of any minibeasts that we find.
In maths we have been learning how to work out one less than a given number. We used objects and number lines to work this out.
Next week is Sports Week at school. Please ensure your child has their PE kit at school every day. Our Sports Day will take place next Wednesday. Parents are welcome to meet us at Bushey Manor and stay for the morning. We will be doing the activities in class groups so parents can follow us to each activity. Parents can have a picnic with their child on Bushey Manor’s field at lunch time. After the picnic we will gather our class together to come back down.
