It has been a fun first week back!
We have started our new topic 'Let's Celebrate'. Our table names have changed from names of traditional tales to Dinner, Fireworks, Presents, Family and Decorations. All things that we might have during a special celebration. We spoke about and made brainstorms of different kinds of celebrations, who celebrates them, when they are celebrated and what special things happen at that time.
We started off the week by writing about our half term news. It sounds like you all had a lovely break with visits to museums, cinemas, weekends away, holidays and days out to London. We practised using our sounds and used our high frequency words to make sure our spelling was correct. We also made sure that we were using full stops correctly.
Today we wrote riddles about Bonfire Night. Can you guess the answer to these ones...
I go bang.
I am colourful.
I am in the sky.
What am I?
I keep you warm.
I am woolly.
I go on your hands.
What am I?
I am red, yellow and orange.
I am hot.
You must not touch me.
What am I?
Our learning this week has carried on from last half term. We have been recapping and consolidating our number bonds to ten and also looking at two digit numbers and what each digit means. We have been using concrete resources such as numicon, cubes and tens frames to make the number, working out ways to group ten. We also started grouping in 5s by using tally marks. Our Maths has been very practical this week with lots of fun activities.
STARS of the DAY!!!!
This week our stars have been...
Manyata, Joshua, Jackson and Jacob.
Well done for all your hard work! Keep it up!
Hopefully you should all have received the email about our Bollywood dance workshop on Tuesday afternoon. We are very lucky that the Bushey Federation Friends (formally the PSA) have kindly funded this workshop for us. So thank you to them.
We hope that lots of you will be able to join us at the end of the afternoon to watch our performances of what we have learnt.
If you did not receive any of this information, please contact the school office.
