What a fabulous week back!
To kick off the beginning of our new topic, the children have worked hard creating their new Fire Station role play. The children have enjoyed designing and creating this space and they have been excited to play in this area throughout the week. We have been talking about all the different people within the school who help us. The children have enjoyed learning about their different roles.
The children explored a pumpkin this week. They talked about what it looked like and what it felt like. The children then scooped out the centre and the pumpkin seeds and designed a scary face to be cut out.
In music the children have been exploring sounds which are fast and slow as well as high and low. They had to listen carefully to Miss Caperon to decide whether sounds were fast or slow and whether they were high or low. The session ended with the children having the opportunity to play their own musical instruments.
In Maths we have been learning to use Numicon to help us with our numbers. We have been ordering the colourful blocks and matching them to numerals. We also started to make our own number line by correctly counting the correct number of children to hold each numeral.
On Friday the children selected their school council members. Thank you to all the children who wrote their ideas. They were very brave presenting their ideas to the rest of the class. The children then voted for a boy and a girl to join the School Council. Congratulations to Martha and Masen who have been voted as Badger Class' representatives.
Thank you to all the parents who have offered to help on the trip next Friday. If any more parents wish to help please let Miss Leach or Mrs Forty know as soon as possible.
