It has been an amazingly active week in O1 and the children have once again been working hard.
The week started with our music sessions and the children have been choosing songs that they want to learn, so they can perform them later on in the year. This was then followed by a PE session where we worked on moving around a circuit and trying the various activities at the stations.
In Literacy this week we have continued with the story of 'Traction Man saves the day' by Mini Grey. The children have focused on the different settings that Traction Man goes to and how he saves all the other toys from the clutches of the evil pillow. The children then got creative and made their own setting using a range of materials and resources. They were very clever in thinking up different ways in which Traction Man could help people.
In maths the children have been looking at subtraction problems and ways in which to find the missing numbers in sums. It is a very tricky concept for the children to grasp and they once again impressed with their understanding and perseverance to try and get the right answers.
The class also enjoyed going to see the year 2 assembly which was all about the Olympics and other things they have been learning about this term.
