We welcomed the children back to school on Monday after their busy half terms. Some children had sent in pictures of things they had done during the week, so we shared these with the class. Many children also drew pictures and wrote sentences about what they had gotten up to over half term.
During our music session with Ms. Caperon this week we sang songs about growing. We are learning to play instruments and sing at the same time. We have to keep a beat whilst playing the instruments.
We had a Relax Kids session on Wednesday morning, which was based around the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children are really enjoying these sessions which combine activity, stretching and relaxing activities. It makes us all feel really good for the rest of the day!
We learned about Eid this week. There are some children in our school who celebrate Eid, so we spoke about what it is and how it is celebrated.
We have also begun to learn about planting and growing. Zara’s mummy came in to us on Friday morning to plant some seeds in our outdoor area. We had to help her to clear the weeds out of the planting bed. We added some more soil to the bed and spread it out. We then planted some seeds in the soil and marked where we had planted them. We planted radishes and lettuce today and we will be keeping a close eye on them over the next few weeks.
We would like to thank Zara’s Mummy for her help today. Next week we will continue to learn about planting seeds and will read the story Jasper’s Beanstalk.
Have a lovely weekend Toucan Class.
