Week 6: 16th Oct 2017

Firstly I would like to say a big congratulations to everyone for their performance in the harvest assemblies this week. They all sang beautifully and I was so proud!!

This week Pandas have been learning...

Literacy: We have been writing our own stories using our imaginations. We were introduced to an object and had to ask who? what? where? why? and when? to create and plan a story . Some of us wrote about enchanted forests and some about how this object powered the world!

Maths: In maths we have been looking at adding together 3 digit numbers using multilink to help us. We have all had a great time and have even started looking for patterns and number bonds that might help us to work these out even faster. For example  6+4+3 -some of us noticed that 6 and 4 is a number bond to 10 and then adding 3 more is easier.

Topic: This week we have been on a science trip and we learnt about all sorts of different habitats and what lives in them. We had a chance to go pond dipping and we saw and identified lots of different creatures that were living in the water. We also had a mini-beast hunt and went looking under logs and leaves to find woodlice, spiders, worms and much more! We then came back to school and we talked about what we had learnt and how we were using identification keys to find out the names of the creatures we found.
