What a busy week we have had to finish off our first half term in Elephants! We spent the beginning part of the week rehearsing our Harvest songs as much as we could so that we would make you proud. It was lovely to have so many of you there to cheer us on! Thank you for coming!
We have been looking at the story of Little Red Riding Hood this week. We watched and read the story lots and had a go at acting out too. We are getting good at pretending to be a character and changing our voices and body language so that everyone can guess who we are trying to be.
We also did some independent writing and wrote out the story without any help! We are getting really good at using our sounds and remembering finger spaces.
On Thursday, it was Diwali so we read the story of Diwali and learnt about how people around the world celebrate it. We drew pictures, made window decorations and designed our own handprint elephants to put up around the classroom.
We have continued to look at our number bonds to 10 and spoke about the 'fiveness of 5' and the 'tenness of 10'. What makes these numbers up and how can we represent them.
Some of us have started to look at our teen numbers too, talking about how many tens and ones they have and finding ways of representing the different digits using cubes, Numicon, tens frames and drawings too.
