This week we have been learning about how to eat healthily. We read the story Handa's Surprise, and looked at some of the fruits in the story. The children drew what they could see, and labelled their pictures. We will taste them on Monday!
In maths we have been learning about repeating patterns. The children helped to complete patterns and also created their own. They made patterns in many different ways, using colours, objects, 2D shapes, people and sounds. We also included repeating patterns in our PE lesson, where we created repeating sequences for our dinosaur dance.
In phonics this week we learned the n, p, and g graphemes. We have also learned two new tricky words this week, me and no. During our phonics session on Wednesday morning, Mrs Cooper arrived with the Golden Book. Florence had been working really hard on her blending when Mrs Cooper walked in, and was given the golden ticket.
We have had 2 star of the day awards this week. Indyana was our star of the day for persevering when she found something tricky. Martha was awarded star of the day for the hard work she put in to drawing and then labelling her pictures.
Next week we will be putting up a display of environmental print. We would like the children to help create it by bringing in examples of environmental print.
