Bushey and Oxhey Infant School

Educating Today's Child for Tomorrow!

Proud to be part of the Bushey Primary Education Federation - Associate Head Mrs J.Djora

Week 5: 9th Oct 2017

We are now coming to the end of our ‘All About Me’ topic.  The children made frames for their family photos and decorated them. These are now displayed in our home corner.

We have begun to discuss harvest this week. As we are participating in the Harvest Assembly next week, we have been practising our song all week, and learning some of the whole school songs too. We are looking forward to performing these songs in our whole school Harvest Assembly next week.  We also read the story ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’, and learned about various vegetables that are harvested at this time of year. We then worked on making our own harvest display.

Our new sounds in phonics this week have been the sounds of ‘s’ and ‘d’. We thought about words that began with these sounds, and learned how to form the letters. We have really been working hard to remember how to write the sounds correctly.

On Thursday we had our first competition afternoon. The children wore their house t-shirts, and were divided into their houses for the competition. They completed various races in their house groups, which included running races, hopping races and beanbag races. The children really enjoyed the afternoon, and were proud to represent their various houses.

Well done on a super week of learning Hedgehog class!
