The week started off with a blast as we zoomed off into space and performed our class assembly. The children did really well, remembering their lines and speaking as clearly as possible. It was great to see so many parents who also enjoyed taking part and answering questions. Well done O1.
In literacy the children have developed their understanding of a story structure. They started off by drawing different settings before thinking of situations and endings for their story. They then used the pictures as guides to how their adventures for Bob would develop and wrote captions. In The final sessions they used all the work they had done to write their own individual stories.
In Maths the children developed their counting in 2's and 10's skills by using a range of techniques and resources. We also began looking at number patterns and finding skills that suited the children best.
In topic we were looking at Picasso and self portraits. The children were fascinated to see the different styles and forms of art that are available. They had fun creating their own self portraits before creating their own cubist portrait.
Finally, Friday way crazy hair day in school. Well done to all those who made such a fabulous effort, there truly were some crazy styles out there!!
