This week Panda class have been learning...
Literacy- This week we have been looking at how the character Ziraffa in our book was taken out of Africa. We then had a debate and shared our ideas about whether animals should be in zoos or not. After this discussion we role played interviews with each other where we questioned and answered thinking about different viewpoints. Then we looked at the format and language that is used in formal letters. Using what we had learnt from the debate we wrote letters "to the zoo" explaining why we thought the animals should/should not be in the zoo.
Maths- This week we have looked at subtracting 10's and ones. We used diens to help us and practiced drawing these out. We spent a long time practicing exchanging a ten for 10 ones so that we could do our subtraction questions. We have also been practising our times tables and have learnt a 3x tables song.
Topic- This week in design and technology we have started designing our African masks and thinking o=about how to make them 3d and add authentic colours and objects to enhance the appearance. We have also started our new spelling work and have started by looking at the "or" sound spelt a followed by l or ll (talk, always) we are excited that next week we start bringing home spellings!
