In English this week, we continued to learn about and use the story Traction Man. We began the week by identifying and describing the different settings from the story, from the sink to the bath tub to the garden. We then had to describe different story settings including an enchanted forest and woods. We created a class list of amazing adjectives and then we used these adjectives to write descriptive sentences. Then, we re-told the story of Traction Man in our own words, ensuring we had a beginning, middle and end of the story. We tried our best to include lots of the detail, even using story language! We ended the week by describing Traction Man, thinking both about his appearance and personality. We created a very long list of adjectives including brave, strong and helpful to name a few!
In Maths this week, we have been learning about subtraction, first we used lots of practical resources and then we solved problems, making sure the biggest number came first! We then moved onto ordering numbers, thinking about what numbers are less and more and why. We made our own number lines and had to decide where certain numbers went, explaining our choices with reasoning.
In Science, we had a challenge to see what we have learnt so far about materials. We had to sort a range of materials in as many different ways as possible and explain our choices. We have learnt a lot about materials and we even surprised ourselves with how much we had remembered!
A super week Tigers, keep up the hard work!
