Proud to be part of the Bushey Primary Education Federation - Associate Head Mrs J.Djora

Week 4 26.09.16

It was fantastic to see so many photographs of the children with their families and as babies - my how they've grown! The children were very excited to share their  photographs within small groups and they talked about their pictures with enthusiasm. Children thought carefully about the questions they would ask and formed detailed answers. We still have some photographs remaining to share early next week and are looking forward to seeing them on a display board in our classroom- lots and lots more conversation still to come!

We have been sounding out m , a , s sounds, working on letter formation and playing games hunting for objects with that initial sound to place inside 'sound hoops' ( please see our week in pictures section)

In maths we have been focusing in on one more and one less. The children moved toy cars into and out of our garage to represent numbers. Olly and Tyla created their own maths activity that they have called 'Melon Maths'! A number of children have enjoyed playing this activity.

The children worked hard in gym this week with Coach Angelo. The 'Golden Book' arrived during this session and Charlie's name was added because he was showing fantastic gymnastic learning at that moment in time - Well done Charlie!

During dance on Thursday we were looking at moves to create a 'Dinosaur Dance' which saw us stomping, crashing, swishing and stretching all around the hall!

Our class song book has been added to this week, Ethan chose 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Edward sharing a song about burglers, who all, I'm pleased to say, get caught by the end of the song!

We are noting the changing of the seasons and are building up our 'signs of Autumn' display. Iris, Leo and Isla have brought in pine cones, confers and a basket full of Autumn colours so far, the more the merrier next week please!

Next week we will be discussing our favourite foods and discovering where in the world different food comes from.
