This week in Zebras we have been learning…
Maths- In maths we have been looking at finding ¾ of a shape and making sure all the pieces are EQUAL sizes. Then we started looking at find ¾ of an amount using our bar model to help us divide the whole into four and then count three of the pieces.
Literacy- I literacy we have been looking at Grandpa’s Garden. We looked at the similes and metaphors used in the book and had a go at writing our own descriptions of the wonderful British weather using similes and metaphors. We also retold the story thinking about the key parts of the story.
Topic- This week we learnt about seed dispersal and the different ways plants spread their seeds. We also walked to the schools allotment to start clearing it ready for planting and thought about what we would like to plant and which vegetables grow better together. We even found out that growing onion with carrots helps stop carrot flies from eating all the baby carrots!
Next week we will be starting to learn to tell the time in maths and writing our own stories about the things we enjoy doing with our families.
