Bushey and Oxhey Infant School

A new adventure in learning begins . . . . .

Proud to be part of the Bushey Primary Education Federation - Associate Head Mrs J.Djora

Week 3: 25th Sept 2017

We have had a very, very busy week this week! We have had 2 trips out of school and still managed to fit lots and lots of learning in!

On Wednesday we walked up to Bushey Manor for a special assembly as it was National Fitness Day. We danced and sang as a whole school to get our bodies moving.

On Friday we joined up with Bushey Manor again to go to the circus. We all had a great time, enjoying the whole experience, but with the Black Eagles being a particular favourite.

English/Topic:

This week we have been looking at the story of Hansel and Gretel. We read the story and spoke about the different characters and the settings. We then thought about making our own cottage of sweets. We wrote writing a shopping lists to remember all the sweets we would use and then drew our cottages labelling the different parts. We even used real sweets to decorate a cottage picture.

We then looked at the character of the Wicked Witch and used adjectives to describe her.

Maths:

We have been focussing on number this week, looking at recognising numbers and counting amounts but also different ways of representing and making a number. We have been using all sorts of practical resources and games to help us begin to justify and reason our thinking.

Elephant Stars of the Day:

Monday - Florence

Tuesday - Kian

Wednesday - Bobby

Friday - Logan and Oscar

Well done guys. Keep up the hard work!

Home learning tasks for the rest of this half term. A paper copy will come home on Monday too.
