Another exciting week in Badger Class!
This week we have been continuing our ‘All About Me’ topic. The children have almost finished their portraits and these will be displayed on the windows next week. They have worked so hard, looking closely at the features of their face and mixing colours to find the perfect shade for their skin, eyes and hair. The children have enjoyed looking at their friend’s portraits and guessing who they belong to. The children have written their names to go alongside their portraits when they are displayed.
The children have been working on a very exciting door and window display based around Badgers. They have used skills such as colour mixing, leaf rubbing, stamping and printing as well as the iPads to create the display.
Many children have enjoyed learning and playing Dominos with their peers. They have carefully counted the dots and found a matching Domino. They have been learning about taking turns when playing a game.
Next week we will be talking about families and we would like all the children to bring in a family photograph to help them talk about their own family. The children will be decorating their own frame for the photograph so it can be displayed in the classroom. Please can the photo be no larger than 6”x4”, is able to be glued onto a piece of card and can stay in school.
Introducing ‘Star of the Day’ and ‘Golden Tickets’.
These are part of the school’s reward system. Each day one child who has done exemplary work or behaviour will be rewarded with the Star of the Day ticket and bonus achievement points. Each week Mrs Cooper will appear in the classroom holding the Golden Book and one child will be chosen to be put in the book and will receive a ‘Golden Ticket’ as well as bonus achievement points. These children will be shared on the website each week.
