What a busy week! The children have been super excited as we enter December and talks of Christmas trees and Santa Clause filled the classroom.
We have been continuing to practise our Christmas Nativity and hopefully the children were inspired when they were the first audience to watch KS1 Christmas Performance. They were a brilliant audience and thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
For the rest of the week the children have been busy making their Christmas calendars while learning about the different seasons. We will be finishing them off next week. They hacv also been making their own Christmas decorations out of salt dough which was a very excited project. They were measuring, mixing, kneading and rolling to make their shapes.
On Monday Toucans very kindly invited us to listen to Coco's dad talk about Hanukkah. He did an amazing job teaching us about the story and how Jewish people celebrate this special festival.
We also had another visitor Steve Hughes who very kindly read his book The Dinosaur in the Shed. The children loved the story and were inspired to write their own stories. Watch out Waterstones your shelves will be filled with their books soon.
The children have been busy learning their tricky words. This are very TRICKY as the skills of blending can not be used and children have to get used to reading these words by sight. We will be adding to them on individual basis so please have them in school every day as we will not be collecting them in weekly like the sound tags.
Next week Bushey Methodist Church has kindly invited us to visit them. If you are available to help on Wednesday morning to help support us in walking safely to the church please let me know on Monday.
Hope you are all enjoying the Christmas fair. Have a lovely weekend.
