This is our final week of our topic 'People who help us.' Ava N made a book in Home Learning and we used this as our inspiration to create our own zig zag books. Children could design, cut, stick and write their stories about who helps us.
In phonics we have been learning the sounds "w", "th" and "z". We have been singing many phonic songs. We have also learned new tricky words.
In Maths this week we have been ordering and positioning numbers using a metre stick and continuing our work to recognise numbers 1-20 and completing number operations.
Coach Angelo reports that the children have been working hard in their hockey sessions, learning to dribble the ball and to manoeuvre it around cones. Dylan impressed Coach Angelo with his listening that he then applied to his practice drills and because of this he was made Star of the Day!
Outside in the chilly weather we have had the opportunity to investigate the properties of water and especially ice! Some of the children created their own set of instruments and played in a band.
This week the children were given the challenge of designing their own obstacle courses and creating games competing against each other to roll balls around the course.
We have been busy creating props for our Nativity play, practising songs and actions. Thank you very much for your support with the children learning their lines and bringing in costumes. We cannot wait to share our play!
