We had a great end to the term this week.
In literacy we read the story Mr. Gumpy's Outing. We continued to work on Set 2 sounds in phonics this week, including writing words containing these sounds. In maths we continued to work on subtraction activities.
We performed in the Spring Assemblies on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had a real Easter focus in our class this week. We made Easter cards, with each child making their card unique, adding baby chicks or interesting borders to their cards. We also made chocolate nests this week. We discussed the steps we would need to follow to make the nests. We found a microwave to melt the chocolate, and everyone participated in making the nests.
On Friday we had our class celebration. The children chose to have a fancy dress and ice lolly party. On Friday afternoon we sat outside in the sunshine to have our ice lollies. Some of the children are already thinking about what our next class celebration could be!
Next term we will be moving on to the topic 'Under the Sea'. If anyone would like to do any home learning based on this new topic, we would be delighted to see it after Easter.
