The countdown to the summer holidays have begun!
The children have been looking back over their year in Reception. We have been talking about their favourite moments, funniest moments and what they have learnt. The children have really enjoyed reliving these moments and some children have reminded me of some very lovely moments in Badger Class. They have even written about these memories for their journal.
On Wednesday World Cup fever had taken over Bushey and Oxhey. The children sported their red and white colours in support of the England team. We made flags and celebrated with It's coming home. Unfortunately this wasn't our year but as we talked about on Thursday, the team has done exceptionally well and we have lots to celebrate and we still have one final match to play, so lets hope the cheering continues for our Saturday match.
On Thursday the class met their new teacher, Miss Stevens, TA, Mrs Oliver and classroom, Penguins. Although nerves started off the day with lots of reassurance needed before the morning assembly they exited the assembly very much like Year 1 children. They had a great morning with their teacher and were very excited to tell me about their new teacher and classroom on my return. (I think they even looked older after a morning away). I hope you had a lovely evening looking at your child's journal and meeting Miss Stevens.
On Friday we went to Bushey Manor (always an exciting adventure) to see the Year 6 production of Olivier! The children sat beautifully and listened well, even through the very warm afternoon. They talked all about it on the return journey and lots of children wanted to perform a song to the class.
Next week is the final week of Reception and we break up on Friday 20th July at 2:15! It's going to be an emotional but very fun last week of Reception. Have a lovely weekend!
