Bushey and Oxhey Infant School

Educating Today's Child for Tomorrow!

Proud to be part of Bushey Primary Education Federation Headteacher: Mrs M Cooper

Week 10: 2nd July 2018

We continued our mini-beast topic this week. On Tuesday we had a visit from Jungle Jo. She brought in a stick insect, a cockroach, an African snail, a tarantula and a millipede. Jungle Jo told us lots of facts about each of the mini-beasts, and allowed us to hold them. She also showed us her snake at the end of the workshop.

This week we also said goodbye to our butterflies. They hatched out of their chrysalis at the beginning of the week. After a couple of days we released them outside. We really enjoyed seeing the caterpillars growing and then turning into butterflies.

We had our class assembly on Wednesday. Our assembly was all about mini-beasts and the work we had done around this. We also retold the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which is a book that we have enjoyed reading over the last few weeks. It was lovely to have so many parents coming to see our performance. We hope you all enjoyed it!
