WOW Meerkats class what another busy week we have had!
In maths this week we have been looking at days of the week. We have been sequencing days of the week and discussing the language of 'yesterday', 'today' and 'tomorrow'. We have also been looking at seasons and what months they are in and we will be continuing on with this next week. Please keep practicing using this language at home!
Our English learning this week has been really fun! We have been writing riddles about things we see and wear on Bonfire night! We came up with lots of clues and use some amazing adjectives to help describe what our riddle was about. Later on in the week our writing was focusing on our FANTASTIC day out to Rock Up! We wrote about what we did and our which climbing was our favourite and why.
In History this week, we have been exploring the story of Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Fireworks night. All the children showed a great understanding of the factual event and were able to recall it. As well as this we have begun to look at Rememberance Sunday, we have explored what it is, why we celebrate it and why we wear poppies.
We have also done some BEAUTIFUL art work this week for our displays in our classroom. First of all we did firework art and got lots of glitter out to help create our picture!!!! On Friday morning we created lots of poppies using different mediums such as paint and chalk.
On Wednesday we had a BRILLIANT day out at Rock Up. All the children in Meerkat class were fearless and all had lots of fun climbing the walls. I am so proud of every single one of you Meerkats and the way some of you conquered your fears of heights!
Next Weeks Learning will be......................................
Remembrance Sunday and why we remember that day.
Diwali (with a very fun day planned on Wednesday - letter to follow).
Birthdays around the world.
In Maths we will be sequencing months and seasons in the year and odd and even numbers.
