O2 have had a wonderful start to the New Year.
On Thursday, we enjoyed coming back to school and telling our friends all about our holidays. We wrote about all the exciting things we did at Christmas and made sure we used time openers, correct punctuation and wrote events in time order. In maths, we focused on division and used counting objects to divide numbers by 2, 5 and 10. In the afternoon, we created ‘One page profiles’ about ourselves. These will tell adults coming into our class all about what makes us happy and how we like to be helped in our learning. We gave each other ideas of what to write by telling each other lots of things that we liked about our friends, and we enjoyed sharing these with the class.
On Friday, we began the day by practising our comprehension skills. We were given a piece of writing about honeybees and answered questions about the text. We made sure we read the information and questions carefully and underlined important parts of the text to help us. We carried on looking at division in maths, and solved problems by spotting the relationships between multiplication and division. Finally, we thought about our targets for the New Year and wrote about what we would like to achieve and how we would go about doing this. We are looking forward to working on these over the next term!
Well done O2 on a fantastic first two days back!
